The EGS2030FFG is a 2-pole Type EGS Series-G thermal-magnetic circuit breaker manufactured by Eaton. It is rated at 30 Amps maximum continuous current and at 35 and 18 kAIC at 240 and 600 Volts AC, respectively, and it comes in an EG Frame. It features standard line and load terminations and it can be used to provide circuit protection for a broad range of applications in different industrial environments. The EGS2030FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker has one of the best contact designs in the circuit breaker industry. Its high-speed “blow open” action combines with its trip-free functionality to ensure that the circuit does not remain closed when fault conditions or currents are present. When in use, the EGS2030FFG circuit breaker automatically protects itself and the connected equipment and conductors from overload currents and short circuits by tripping the breaker when its thermal-magnetic elements detect high fault currents that exceed its rating.
Note that the EGS2030FFG breaker does not automatically reclose the circuit after it trips. It must be manually reset and reclosed before it can resume operation. The EGS2030FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker can be used in applications such as feeder pillars, in busbar trunking tap-offs, machine tool control panels, switchgears, motor control centers, individual enclosures, and panel boards. The vertical or horizontal installation of this circuit breaker does not negatively affect its performance. The EGS2030FFG thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is compatible for use with many Series G internal and external accessories, including shunt trips and electrical operators that extend its functionality by allowing remote monitoring, resetting, and configuration.
