The Eaton Cutler-Hammer EGS3050FFB Molded Case Circuit Breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker form the G Series and F Frame family of breakers with fixed thermal-magnetic trip units, and it is designed to provide all-around protection to low-voltage circuits, conductors, and connected electrical devices. Similar to all G Series breakers, this circuit breaker has a space-saving design which features a high level of circuit protection within a compact package, and it is also HACR rated for use. The EGS3050FFB is built for a nominal current rating of 50 Amps and a maximum circuit voltage of 600 Volts AC, and it offers 35 kAIC of maximum interrupting capacity at 480 Volts AC.
The EGS3050FFB comes from the Frame EG line of completely assembled breaker units, consisting of the frame, the terminals, and a fixed thermal-magnetic trip unit. Its terminal is the bolt-on type which is designed for easy field wiring, and it comes with 3-pole wiring configuration that is suitable for either single or 3-phase applications. The EGS3050FFB has a trip unit of the fixed thermal and magnetic type which offers a fast-acting thermal trip action by using current-deflected bimetal elements, and it also has a series of arranged electromagnets that are designed to provide instantaneous trip action the moment that the circuit currents exceed the set value. A mechanically trip-free operating mechanism is also included in the assembly. This operating helps to hold the contacts open in the event of an abnormal circuit condition, and it also indicates if the breaker is on, off, or tripped. The EGS3050FFB weighs approximately 1.36 kilograms (3.0 pounds), and it has an approximate shipping volume of 76.2 x 139.7 x 75.9 millimeters (3.0 x 5.5 x 2.99 inches).
